Situated within walking distance of Romford, Essex (but far
enough away for us Gideaparkites to call ourselves a civilised society),
the area has an interesting and rich history, about which much has been written,
so we won't go into it here.
Meanwhile, we celebrate having Raphaels Park
to the West (Disputed territory this, rather like Kashmir, but it's ours when
the sun shines, and Romford's when the maintenance bills arrive), and Gallows
Corner to the East (one of the most dangerous roundabouts in England - keeps
unwanted visitors away).
To the North we have the A127, mercifully separating
us from the strangers beyond, and to the south there's the London to Essex railway
line, soon to be incorporating CrossRail (great for the value of our properties).
Within
these barriers, we have a delightful mix of residents,
businesses, and life.
The purpose of the web site therefore is simply to inform you of what services are available and where, and to enable residents of Gidea Park to communicate their wants and offers to others, via the message boards.
